Gymboree

Cale loves to go to a local gym called Gymboree. My mom usually takes him every Wednesday, however with all the snow we've had lately, a class was cancelled so I went with mom and Cale to a make up class a few Saturday's ago and we had a blast. They let the kids run, climb, go down slides, have a huge parachute and place intertubes under big mats and call it "bumpy roads" (this is Cale's favorite). Here are a few pictures from the gym.

They have a theme each time, this time it was mail, so Cale is picking up letters to take to the pretend post office and mai the lettersl. So cute!

Daddy and Cale bonding

Nothing warms my heart more than watching Cale and Jeff together. It melts my heart! Jeff is amazing dad and now that Cale is getting older, they just keep coming closer and closer buddies! They play trains together, wrestle, run all over the house and Cale just adores him. And to see Jeff's love for Cale just continue to blossom and grow, to see his smile and hear his laugh when he plays with our little man, well honestly it just rocks! Here is a picture of them from a few weeks ago watching the fire in the fireplace together.

Snow!!!

This has been a crazy winter for snow here in St. Louis. We have had lots of it and I have to say if I don't see another single speck of white stuff fall this season, I will be one happy momma. I am so ready for spring! We took Cale out in the snow this weekend on Saturday for the first time and he loved it! We couldn't get him to come in. We stayed out on for about 1/2 hour before we started freezing. He loved throwing snowballs with daddy, being chased by mommy and daddy while running through the snow and thought that eating snow was awesome! Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Potty training update

Cale is actually doing great with the potty training! He now pees and poops on the potty. Although we haven't gotten there completely with him having completely dry big boy pants during the day, we are getting there. During the night he still wears a diaper, but I know in time we will get there with the overnights. I think we'll definitely be in big boy underwear by the time our second little guy arrives. Ah how wonderful it will be to have only 1 kiddo in diapers!

It's a.......

BOY! That's right folks we are having another boy. Wow, how cool is that! We got to see our little guy this afternoon and he is adorable and healthy. He has a strong heartbeat and is 13 ounces and our doctor said he looks wonderful! I can't tell you the feelings I felt when I saw that little guy looking back at me and Jeff during the ultrasound. I knew that I already loved that little man, but I seriously felt my heart just melt, I physically felt the love grow in my heart this afternoon when I saw him, heard his heartbeat again. It was awesome. Little baby K, we are so excited about your upcoming arrival in June and can't wait to meet you. This mommy is head over heals for you and she hasn't even met you yet! Thank you God for the blessing of children and for the gift of our second little man. I am so excited Cale is going to have a brother and look forward to watching them grow together!

Climb aboard the potty train!

Reading books while sitting on the potty!

We started potty training on Saturday and wow is it a lot of work! Lot's of time sititng on the potty, reading potty books like "The Potty Train," lots of cheering and sheer excitement in Cale's eyes when he goes potty in the potty, lots of m&ms, lots of just sitting and waiting, and more sitting and waiting, lots of hand washings, and lots of toliet paper. Cale thinks he needs to wipe his butt everytime he goes potty. He's doing pretty good so far. We have him in pull-ups and although we've had no poops in the potty, we've had lots of successes this weekend with pee pees! Although I know we have a ways to go, I think we had a great 1st potty training weekend!

There is 1 fun story from the weekend of potty training-today Cale sat on the potty for a while, but he didn't have to go, so he got up all excited, but then we looked into the potty and he didn't go. So he said m&m and I said "only if you go potty in the potty and you didn't go this time, but it's ok." So what does he do before I get his pull ups back on him-he goes to the kithchen and stares at the cabinet where the m&ms are and I again say "not this time buddy, we get an m&m for going potty in the potty" So what does he do, he stands there and pees on the kitchen floor and then wants an m&m. Although I was so frustrated in the moment and was like "no, no Cale, we don't pee on the floor" I also deep down inside couldn't help but laugh. He's a smart kiddo-he knows he has to go pee to get an m&m and that's what he did. Looking back on it this evening, all I can do is laugh!

Before and After

Just to give you an idea of our lovely living room after getting all the toys out and playing for a day. It amazes me how quickly our house can get messy! It seems to just take 2 seconds and then it looks crazy! See for yourself :)
